South's Archery team competed this past weekend at the 1st Annual Cardinal Classic in Madisonville. The team received a trophy for 3rd Place, and Nora St. Pierre received a 2nd place medal for her individual score of 288. Great job, guys!

Infinite Campus Parent Portal
The Infinite Campus/Parent Portal provides parents/guardians with access to information such as attendance, grades, schedules, assignments, etc. This information available varies depending on grade level.
Online Registration Coming Soon for Henderson County Schools
We are excited to inform you that Online Registration for students in all Henderson County Schools will be implemented for the 2017-2018 school year.
Online registration will replace student enrollment forms and will be a quicker more efficient system for parents and the HCS staff.
We are asking for your help to prepare. It is important for parents/guardians to set up or update an Infinite Campus/Parent Portal account NOW to make the registration process easier and faster later. Infinite Campus Parent Portal link can be found on this webpage in the upper right corner under Quick Links.
Parents using Infinite Campus Parent Portal for the first time please contact your school secretary to get an Activation Key.
You may also request assistance with setting up a Parent Portal account at parent teacher conferences during the next few weeks.

Once you have an Activation Key from your school:
Click Infinite Campus Parent Portal Link on this webpage in the upper right corner under Quick Links.
Click the CLICK HERE link for parents with an Activation Key.
Use Activation key as GUID Number to log in
Set up your User Name and Password

HCHS Parent Academy for 8th Grade Parents

Henderson County High School would like to invite all current 8th grade students and their parents/guardians to their Parent Academy on Thursday, Feb. 2nd starting at 6 PM in the HCHS Auditorium. Parent Academy will start with presentations by our Student Ambassadors followed by a breakout session for current 8th grade students for questions about scheduling for next year.

SMS Archery Students Hit the Target

he South Middle School Archery Team traveled to Webster County High School this past weekend and competed in the 3rd Annual Trojan Classic Tournament.

Middle School Female Division:
2nd place Nora St. Pierre score of 279/300
5th place Kendylle Wright score of 274/300

The South Middle School Team placed 2nd in Middle School Teams Division with a team score of 3133.

“Best Crowd Appeal” Award

Best of the Best is the award that recognizes the overall winner of the competition in the middle school division – this can be won by ANY MIDDLE SCHOOL team participating in the competition. To be eligible for Best of the Best, a team must participate in at least TWO categories from the following list: pom, prop, jazz, team/variety, hip hop. Best of the Best is awarded to the team (regardless of region if it is a bi-/tri-regional competition) who received the highest average of scores of all performances. “All performances” means every performance’s score by one team will be counted into their average

3 Days of SMS Spirit!

Friday, Dec. 16th School Spirit Day (Our Basketball Teams are participating in a Holiday Tournament that weekend)
• Wear a South shirt, sweatshirt, warm-up jacket
• Bottom will remain same with tuck, belt, kaki or black pants
• Students not participating, stay in uniform

Monday, Dec. 19th – Christmas Head Wear Day
• Anything on the head that represents the holiday season is good
• Uniform the rest of the way down

Tuesday, Dec. 20th – Christmas Attire Free Dress Day (no head wear)
• If student wears red, green, or anything that represents holiday season, it is good
• Old dress code applies
• No tucking required
• No pajama pants or house shoes
• Students not participating wear uniforms
• No holes in pants (even if there is something on underneath)

Congratulations to all of our SMS 2016 KYA representatives! Emma Gibson was presented with one of the Outstanding Speaker awards given by fellow advisors and Bryson Whitesides received the Outstanding Delegate Award given by our own advisors! South was also awarded with an Outstanding Delegation award!!! Thank you to Mr. Heffington and Mrs. Ward for their hard work and dedication to our children and to all of our parents for their support, especially Shawnda Gibson and Done' McAlvain for chaperoning the KYA trip!
