SMS: House Spirit store order forms are due this Friday, August 28 by 3:30pm. Money is due at the time of order. No late orders will be accepted as the order is being placed this weekend. Please take a look for options for an extra t-shirt, sweatshirt, socks, lanyard, stickers!
SMS: Mark your calendars for our Ice Cream Social. Tuesday, September 1 from 4-6pm. Come and meet your child's teachers, see their classrooms, and enjoy some ice cream! This is a come and go event and we are excited to see our families at SMS!
SMS: 7th/8th grade schedule pickup will be on 8/6/26 from 4-6pm. In order to pick up schedule early, please have online registration complete and pay fees ($30). Fees can be paid with a card in IC or in person with check or cash. We cannot take cards at the school. We will also have House Spirit Store order forms available as well.
SMS: 6th grade orientation is 8/6/26 from 12:30 - 3:30. They will get their school schedule and locker at this event. Students can be dropped off out front and they will enter the front of the building. Program will start at 12:30. Access around the back of the building is closed. Students will be dismissed out the front doors at 3:30pm. Please leave school supplies at home. We are excited to meet our new Bulldogs.

SMS: What an amazing day at SMS!! We started with the HCHS Senior Walk and then had our inflatable day and movie reward! A lot of pictures were posted ot our Facebook account so please check them out. We love seeing our kids be kids and today there were lots of opportunities for that! Chromebooks were collected and your child was given a PINK receipt - please take a look at that to see if there were any charges due to damages. A few reminders for the next couple of days:

SMS: Tomorrow is a fun filled day! Students can be in free dress tomorrow. Normal free dress rules apply. No rips/tears in clothing, no leggings/tight fitting clothing, no pajamas/house shoes. Shorts must come to the top of the knee.
SMS: Chromebook Collection is tomorrow (5/14/26). Please make sure students have their Chromebook and charger at school tomorrow. Students will receive a PINK receipt after they turn in their device. This will let you know what was turned in and if any fees were applied.

SMS: It’s that time of year for us to be thinking about 8th grade graduation. One tradition at SMS is to create a slide show with the baby pictures of our 8th grade students. The students have been shown how to access their slide and add pictures. Please assist them with finding 1 to 3 baby pictures that they can place on their slide this week.
SMS: We are excited to welcome back our Bulldogs tomorrow! Reminder to charge Chromebooks tonight! Students are encouraged to wear house shirts on Mondays with uniform bottoms. As warmer weather is here, this is a reminder that shorts must come to the top of the knee. We cannot wait to see our Bulldogs tomorrow! Doors open at 7am w/ breakfast at 7:15am.

February 15th was National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day, and although it fell on a Sunday this year, we wanted to take a moment to recognize and thank our incredible SROs.
Our School Resource Officers do so much more than keep our schools safe. They build meaningful relationships with our students, serve as mentors, offer guidance, and help create a positive and secure learning environment across Henderson County Schools.
Their presence brings comfort to students, staff, and families alike, and their commitment does not go unnoticed.
